First premiered in Argentina at the Teatro Neptuno in Mar del Plata, in December 1998, the Marc Camoletti’s play was initially produced by Nito Artaza and directed by Carlos Moreno. Launched for the first time with the famous actors Rodolfo Ranni and Fabian Gianola, this great classic and successful vaudeville of the theatrical comedy was very well received by the public, and remained on stages for several years in Argentina. Then the play was transferred in Buenos Aires before going on a national tour.

Years later, the play’s been rerun by the same director in 2006, under the production of Javier Faroni at the Metropolitan Theater of Buenos Aires. In this same year, the play “Miti Miti” by the same author, was also premiered in Argentina.

Synopsis:

Bernard, a successful architect who lives in Paris is dating with three flight attendants at the same time, Janet, Juliana and Judith. But on their side, they all believe that he’s their only true love. Bernard has elaborated a sophisticated calendar so that each one of these three women could spend a night in his apartment, when they stop in Paris, without coinciding. To make this possible, he always counts on Bertha’s help, his long-suffering and faithful assistant, who acts as a romantic air traffic controller. Everything works like a clock.

After many years without seeing each other, he receives the visit of his cousin Robert, coinciding with the premiere of the new Boeing turbo, much faster than the previous one. That’s when begin the turbulences, schedules changes and flights delays..entering a kind of whirlpool that takes us to a delirious entanglement.

Adapted in Argentina from the original play « The Play that goes wrong » written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer & Henry Shields. The play was first launched in May 2016 and still played at Teatro Tabaris, in Buenos Aires (currently from Wednesday to Sunday). From January 2017, two casts of actors run at the same time throughout the all country, specially in Mar del Plata and Villa Carlos Paz, which are the two more important and touristic cities at summer season in Argentina.

« Como el Culo » or « The Play That Goes Wrong », is a comedy in which everything goes wrong! It’s a kind of « stage delirium », the one which is already in its second year of representation in Argentina.

This is all about some catastrophic attempts, one after another. From the first collaborative initiative of the theatrical group of The Cornley Polytechnic Society, the play stages a work of mystery about a murder, located in 1920. But as the play title suggests it, everything can go wrong, and actually goes wrong…and worse.

The protagonists of this drama comedy piece all fight against wind and try to overcome obstacles until the greeting play final, full of hilarious consequences.

Adapted in Argentina from the original novel « The 39 Steps », originally written by John Buchan in 1915, then last adapted to Cinema by Alfred Hitchcock in 1935. The play was first launched in Buenos Aires at the Theater Picadilly in April 2010, before running to severals cities of the country as Rosario and Mar del Plata.

In Argentina, The 39 Steps has been a primed successful play, consecrated by the public throughout the last years 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, both in Mar del Plata at the theater Güemes, and in Buenos Aires at the Piccadilly theater, then lately at the Paseo La Plaza, even in severals provinces of the country. The same actors casting and Faroni’s production has been played in Montevideo, in Uruguay, and in Santiago de Chile, in Chile. In addition, the play has received an infinity of prizes in all the different cities where has been played.

With 150 characters on stages interpreted by only 4 actors, this play represents a vertiginous mystery for Theater lovers… This dramatic piece has been awarded twice at the Tony Awards and get a Laurence Olivier prize, has been in run in London, in Madrid, in Broadway, as in more than 20 countries in the world.

The original production was first directed by Maria Aitken in London, and premiered at the Tricycle Theater in Kilburn, in August 2006, before being transferred to the Criterion Theater in the West End on September 2006. In UK, the original production directed by Fiona Buffini was licensed to being adapted to Cinema and distributed by ITV Global Entertainment Ltd.

 The 39 steps is a theater classic that combines comedy, humor, suspense and terror, created as the perfect combination of a Hitchcock masterpiece, a spy novel and a hilarious comedy. Richard Hannay, a man who drives a boring life suddenly meets Anabella, a mysterious woman who claims to be a spy.

When she takes him to her house, she is murdered but before he can realize it, the man starts being persecuted by an organization called « The 39 steps ». This spy organization will not lose track of a human hunt all across the United States.

Adapted in Argentina from the original play « The Woman in Black », originally written by Susan Hill in 1987, and adapted at theater by Stephen Mallatratt, the play was first launched at theater in 2013 in Buenos Aires at theater Picadilly, and then transferred at the theater Güemes in Mar del Plata, Argentina. The Argentinian theatrical versión of the play was first launched at the Teatro Picadilly in Buenos Aires, and well received by the Press critics who’ve written that has came to « embellish the Buenos Aires theatrical offers / billboard with a simply and perfect artistic work! ».

« The Woman in Black » was one of the world’s most successful theatrical pieces for 25 years in London, 17 years in Mexico and 11 years in Madrid, and also a great success in more than 30 countries in which it’s been performed on stages. Transferred at the Teatro Güemes in Mar del Plata, during summer 2013, « The Woman in Black » o « La Dama de Negro » could win the majority of the « Estrella de Mar » Awards, with six different prizes, and among them, also was nominated as the Best Dramatic Comedy and the Best Actor in Dramatic Comedy of this year.

Synopsis:

Between histrionics, humor and versatility, this dramatic comedy manages to create some great moments of terror and fear. From the play master protagonist called John Morris (played by Fabian Gianola) who is skeptically in charged to teach the lawyer Artur Kipps (played by Nicolás Scarpino) how to act performances, in order to exorcise several past traumas, there will be a remarkable chemistry and communion of/into the dialogs, between the shared words and personal stories, all along during the play until the end of the drama.

Adapted in Argentina from the original novel « Strangers on a train » by Patricia Highsmith, originally presented in 1951 as a film directed by Alfred Hitchcock. The play was launched in 2011 as a world premiere at the Teatro Picadilly in Buenos Aires, and then run at the theater Güemes in Mar del Plata in 2012 ; the play was first presented in Argentina, before the same production was transferred in Mexico at the theater Wilberto Cantón, in 2012.

Then the play was readapted to run on Broadway, in London, and to any other part of the world. Also the play adaptation in Argentina has received the Prime of the « Best Dramatic play », at the Estrella de Mar Awards, in Mar del Plata, in December 2011.

Synopsis:

By hazard, two strangers meet on a train and begin to talk together. In a misunderstanding, one of the two men, while they’re revealing personal matters, makes a sinister y dark pact with the other passenger, as a criminal exchange. From that moment, a persecution begins as a harassment, creating on stages a cluster of sensations, « as in the all Hitchcock’s films » could have said the Argentinian play Director, Gonzalez Gil. Intrigue and suspense will be the constant during the development of the play in where the key question will be: “What hinders you in life? ».

Between the persecutor, Bruno Anthony, and the persecuted, Guy Haines, among all the tension that the play proposes, it appears a romantic part and some comedy, in which one of the esencial homosexual link of the original escenario has been consciously changed, focusing this new play adaptation on something more fundamental, according to G.Gil’s vision : that « a murderer could never be free »!

Initially premiered in Argentina in 2005, for the independent theatrical sector, the great and famous love pains by phone of the legendary Jean Cocteau’ master piece, “La Voix Humaine”, was adapted for the first time in Argentina at the Theater Estudio, and then at the Beckett Theater, under the direction of Gaston Marioni. During the same year, the play was rerun in a tragicomic version directed and performed by Humberto Tortonese at the Broadway Theater. “The play is dramatic, but I think Cocteau used to laugh, because a so desperate woman may induce you some laughter,” said the actor in his monologue version. From the  initial version at theater, «The Human Voice» also has been adapted into an operatic version, written by Francis Poulenc, and another cinematographic version directed by Roberto Rossellini.

Since the multi-faceted poet, playwright, novelist and French painter, Jean Cocteau, wrote “The Human Voice” and premiered the play at La Comedie Française in 1930, the play still remains a kind of a journey that takes us to the depth of being ; an eternal question continues beating and always re-emerging from this dramatic play about human feelings and their limits: «  What’s able to do a desperate person in front of the loss of love? »

Synopsis:

A lonely woman waits for the call of her beloved. Meanwhile, she dresses herself with anxiety, desolation and anguish, until it becomes real. Her senses transcend and remain. When the call finally turns concrete, the voice appears from the other side: it generates attitude changes for the different arguments that her lover come developing, from deception to some of the most kind words.

Words and silences caress her and hurt her, they get lost, they return the invisible to something corporeal. The work’s introduced from a woman’ soul, a woman who reaches the limit of her own desperation and rediscovers herself in it. On stage, the most intimate reality manifests itself by creating an atmosphere charged with emotions.

Adapted in Argentina from the original Italian play « Filomena Marturano » written by Eduardo de Filippo in 1946, which has been already run at cinemas twice and still remains one classic of the cinema of Sofia Loren and Marcello Mastroianni… (first adapted by Luis Motura in 1950, then by the film Director Vittorio de Sica in 1964, through the movie title « Matrimonio a la italiana »).

The play launched its latest version on stages at theater Multiteatro in Buenos Aires, in 2006, and then has run a lot of Latin American countries during more than three years until 2010. The play has been transferred and rerun in 2016 at the Avenue Corrientes where it’s been performed during more than 6 months at the mythical El Nacional Theater of Buenos Aires. For more than 10 years, the play has run in more than 20 cities of the Argentinian province, until the show kept shining in this current 2017, and has returned to the Teatro 25 de Mayo of Villa Urquiza for a last session on stages in February.

Synopsis:

From the original escenario, Filomena is a woman who has to dedicate herself to prostitution in order to be able to support and feed her three children. She’s got an older lover called Domenico Soriano, to the one she asks to marry her through a kind of perverse game, pretending to be suddenly dying, and that after 30 years of coexistence she’s been actually sharing with the man.

When he agrees, his reality will be noticeably modified. Right after the ceremony, she confesses that she has faked her agony so that her three children can bear Domenico paternal surname. But when this protagonist does want to cancel the marriage, she implores him to know which one of the three children is his. To avoid favoritism, Filomena refuses to tell him the truth. Finally Doménico will ask her to remarry him, and accepts the paternity of the three young men.

Produced by Javier Faroni in 2006, and directed by Ernesto Medela, the successful play by Raffy Shart, “My Wife’s Called Mauricio” premiered in Argentina at the Teatro Candilejas in Villa Carlos Paz, before performing in Buenos Aires. Years later, under the production of Aldo Funes, the play production was rerun in Mar Del Plata in 2017, and recently (2018) transferred one more time in Buenos Aires under the direction of the same director.

Initially launched in Paris in 1998, the play has been adapted in more than 25 countries, and also in a movie version in 2002, signed by the French director Jean Mari Poiré. Upon returning to Buenos Aires for his 3rd run at the Premier Theater, in June 2018, the play stars German Kraus, Alejandro Müller, Matias Alé, Matias Santoiani, Adriana Brodsky, Kitty Locane and Micaela Mancini.

« My wife’s called Mauricio », is a comedy where disturbing entanglements happen again and again until an unexpected ending. George and Marion are a middle class couple who’ve been married for several years but who’re just in a crisis, until one day appears Maurice, member of an organization called “Fraternal Help.” Maurice will try to help George out of his many problems, but instead of solving them, he manages to unleash many comical situations that will lead to a surprising ending.
